The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on November 28, 2025, inviting applications for setting up new technical institutions, extension of approval for existing institutions and universities, and approval of ODL/Online programs in Management and Computer Applications. Applicants must submit proposals online through the AICTE Web Portal, following the provisions of the Approval Process Handbook (APH) 2024–25 to 2026–27.
AICTE has mandated that new institutions apply via the National Single Window System (NSWS), while universities must seek approval for all technical programmes without exception. Institutions Deemed to be Universities must comply with the Supreme Court order requiring mandatory AICTE approval since AY 2018–19. Standalone and deemed institutions offering ODL/online programmes must follow APH norms.
The notice also provides a detailed schedule for submission of applications, including timelines for new institutions, existing institutions, NPNL category programmes, and submissions with late fees. All institutions are advised to regularly monitor the AICTE website for updates related to the Approval Process for AY 2026–27.
